Peer-to-peer delivery through CarryLink is faster than traditional couriers, often cheaper, and surprisingly personal. But it works best when you know what to expect. Here are five things every sender should know before their first booking.
The traveller is trusting you with a description. Be specific about what you're sending — the item type, dimensions if relevant, and weight. Misrepresentation is grounds for cancellation and may affect your account standing. Honest descriptions mean smoother handovers and happier travellers.
Travellers cannot carry illegal items, cash, weapons, hazardous materials, live animals, or anything restricted by the origin or destination country's customs rules. If in doubt, don't send it — or contact us first. Items refused at the border create problems for both you and the traveller.
When you pay, your funds go into escrow — not directly to the traveller. They're only released once you confirm delivery. If the traveller cancels before collecting the item, you get a full refund automatically. If there's a problem in transit, you can raise a dispute and our team will review it.
Once a booking is confirmed, use the CarryLink booking chat to arrange collection: agree on a handover location, share the item weight with a photo if helpful, and stay responsive. Travellers are more confident (and careful) when the sender is communicative.
Once you receive your item, confirm delivery in the app promptly. The traveller is waiting to be paid, and your confirmation is what releases their earnings. If you don't confirm within 48 hours of the traveller marking delivery, the funds release automatically.
